Free Books
Free books are available to all Anecdex users at no cost. They help authors:

Authors earn royalties based on qualifying reads generated by their free books.
Premium Books
Premium books are available to Anecdex Premium and Premium Plus subscribers as part of an ad-free, downloadable reading experience.
Premium books offer higher royalty payouts than free titles because they form part of the paid subscriber experience.
Anecdex Originals
Anecdex Originals are exclusive titles available only to Premium Plus subscribers — you won't find them on any other platform.
Originals deliver the highest royalty payouts on Anecdex.
Anecdex Originals — exclusive to Anecdex
Anecdex Originals are books that live only on Anecdex — only Premium Plus readers have access to them. To qualify as an Original, a book must be exclusive to the platform. This means:
- ✅The book must only be available on Anecdex
- ✅The full book may not be published on other reading platforms
- ✅The book may not be distributed elsewhere while enrolled as an Anecdex Original
By keeping Originals exclusive, Anecdex gives Premium Plus readers stories they cannot find anywhere else — and rewards the authors behind them with the platform's highest royalties.

How a book becomes Premium
Authors may request for their books to be considered for Premium status through the Author Studio. The Anecdex team reviews submissions to ensure that:
- The book meets quality standards
- The book complies with exclusivity requirements
- The book is suitable for Premium readers
Approved books will receive a Premium designation and become available to subscribers.
